What is 2-1-1?

2-1-1 is an information and referral line available 24/7/365 in 175 languages and dialects. This free and confidential service helps people connect to social services offered by health and human service providers, government agencies and community-based organizations.

Who does it help?

2-1-1 helps everyone such as a single mother needing food for her children, a senior citizen looking for in-home care or an individual looking for job training or financial counseling.

Why do we need it?

The community as a whole benefits from 2-1-1 because it helps people connect with the information they need when they need it most. This service is private, confidential and provides an easy entry point for people who need to turn outside their families for help. 2-1-1 increases efficiency by helping callers clearly define their needs and pointing them to the best places to seek help.

Additionally, 2-1-1 plays an important communications role during natural disasters or other state crises, with support from other 2-1-1 call centers if our call center is unable to maintain operation.
