Ocean State Dining Congregate Meal Site (Senior Services, Inc.) provides meals in a group setting for seniors. The website is www.seniorservicesri.org

• to provide hot, nutritious meals to senior and younger disabled people
• to provide low cost meals that will allow seniors on fixed incomes to purchase other necessities
• to prevent illness and promote good health by providing good nutritious meals,
• to allow seniors to socialize promoting good mental health

Alternative Adult Care (Senior Services, Inc.) offers daycare for seniors no longer able to care for themselves, provides family members with the peace of mind that their loved ones will be taken care of on a daily basis, and decreases the isolation that can contribute to ill health and depression in the individual, and to provide relief to care givers and family members.

Caregivers Support Group (Senior Services, Inc.) meets once a month on the first Wednesday of the month.

Elder Information Specialist (Senior Services, Inc.) offers assistance and counseling to seniors concerning programs and services for seniors.

Wellness Days (RSVP/RSVA, Inc.) offers registered nurses who give free blood pressure checks, answer health care questions and, once a month, check glucose levels. Thursdays 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.
Heating Assistance (BVCAP) provides assistance with heating bills to qualified individuals.

InSight (RSVP/RSVA, Inc.) provides support for visually handi-capped people. It meets once a month on the third Tuesday of the month.

SERVE Food Co-op (Family Resources) provides a basket full of groceries for a small registration fee plus several hours of community service. Coordinated by Family Resources.

Weekly/Daily Activities (RSVP/RSVA, Inc. and Senior Services, Inc.) including card playing, bingo, arts and crafts, computer classes, exercise, Line Dancing, Pitch League, and noontime entertainment and groups and services that utilize the building

Meals on Wheels (RSVP/RSVA, Inc.) delivers a hot meal weekdays to home-bound elderly and younger disabled or handicapped people. The meals are delivered by dedicated RSVP volunteers. Approximately 250 meals a day are delivered through out Northern Rhode Island.
RSVP Soup Run (RSVP/RSVA, Inc.) provides hot soup each weekday to homebound seniors. There is a small charge for the soup.

In-home Services are offered to the elderly and/or handicapped to help maintain their independence, offer a sense of security and keep them in their own home. Some of the programs are free of charge; some charge a moderate fee for services.

Friendly Visitors (RSVP/RSVA, Inc.) and the Telephone Assurance programs (RSVP/RSVA, Inc.) are RSVP volunteers who offer friendly support and companionship. These programs are free of charge to anyone over the age of 60 and/or who is handicapped.
Senior Companions (RSVP/RSVA, Inc.) offer companionship and transportation to homebound elderly. Senior Companions receive a stipend by the Department of Elderly Affairs.
Home Help (RSVP/RSVA, Inc.) offers low cost light housekeeping services, laundry and support to home bound elderly. The services are paid for by the people for whom the work is done.

VITA/EITC program (RSVP/RSVA, Inc.) provides free income tax preparation assistance to low income people. The IRS provides the training for RSVP volunteer preparers. Electronic filing of tax returns is available at no charge. Special attention is paid to assisting people who qualify for Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)

Golden Opportunities for Life Enrichment (GOLE) (RSVP/RSVA, Inc.) is an RSVP volunteer program that provides recreational programs including but not limited to bingo, ceramics, scrabble, pitch, wellness days, Flu shots, line dancing, and quilting at the Woonsocket Senior Citizens Center.

RSVP sponsors SuccessWear, a service which provides new or used donated clothing to low income people, (young or old/male or female) that are either going on a job interview or are already employed and in need of work appropriate clothing. SuccessWear is part of the RI Clothing Collaborative, a statewide network.
